Our Venue
Our venue is in the small southern town of Madison, FL near the panhandle. It is the Wardlaw-Smith-Goza mansion, owned currently by North Florida Community College (which is just a few blocks away). It's currently often used as a conference center. Personally, I think it is way undervalued - it is a beautiful setting for our wedding! We will be having both our ceremony & reception here; the ceremony takes place on the side lawn, in front of a pergola. The reception tables will be under the oak tree, along the brick driveway (this is actually the back of the house. I have no pics of the front of the house, but it's along a main street so we won't spend any time there).
What's especially intriguing is that it was built in 1860, and was used briefly as a hospital for both the North and South after the Civil War Battle of Olustee (near Lake City, FL). I'm not a big fan of living in the South but beautiful architecture and history like this makes me appreciate it. Not to mention that oak tree!
